We usually like to attend ChiTag, a public toy and game fair, every year and bring our little daydreamers so we can hit the Chicago museums and pre-holiday hot spots! This year, Ryan attended ChiTag in a new capacity as an attendee of the Toy & Game Inventor Conference. It was a chance for professional inventors to hear wish lists presentations from several companies, attend various conferences on industry topics, and attend the Tagie Awards at the Science and Industry Museum. It was amazing to be able to attend an event that was concentrated on professional inventors and the important role we play to bringing creativity to those companies that welcome us. There were workshops on legal issues, prototyping, and the chance to meet one-on-one with several toy and game companies. It was a great event that very clearly took a lot of organization and effort from Mary Couzin and her team at the Chicago Toy & Game Group, Inc.
And now, we begin the push for the 2012 New York Toy Fair. We’re making Santa’s workshop look slow!
“I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living, it’s a way of looking at life through the wrong end of a telescope. Which is what I do, and that enables you to laugh at life’s realities.” ~Theodore Geisel
